THE VICTORIA FAULKNER WOMEN’S CENTRE LAUNCHES ELECTION ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE AHEAD OF YUKON VOTE
Whitehorse, Yukon — With the upcoming territorial election in Yukon approaching, the Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre is proud to announce its nonpartisan initiative to engage voters and promote informed participation in this democratic process.
As part of our commitment to civic engagement, the VFWC will be inviting all registered political parties and candidates to respond to a series of key questions that reflect the priorities and concerns of our community. These questions will focus on topics such as affordability, housing, environment, education, healthcare, and funding for women organizations and initiatives.
To ensure transparency and fairness, all parties will receive the same set of questions and equal opportunity to provide written responses. These responses will be published in full, without edits or endorsements, on our website and shared across our social media platforms. This approach allows Yukoners to hear directly from those seeking office, in their own words.
Our goal is to provide a fair and accessible platform for voters to make informed decisions. We believe that democracy works best when people have clear, unbiased information on where candidates stand and we want to share that information to give voters a chance to decide.
Responses will be published starting mid-October and will remain available through election day. The public is encouraged to follow socials for updates.
The Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and respectful space where all self-identified women, and non-binary folks.
